Performing regular skin checks on yourself is an easy way for you to detect early skin cancers. Try looking once per month to get a sense of what your skin is doing. Broad spectrum sunscreen SPF 30 or higher is what Health Canada Recommends.
Avoid the sun in peak hours (11-3), wear a hat and put on sunscreen. There are different sunscreens and some do not have any chemicals. Roughly a shot glass is needed to cover the average body. Reapply every 80 minutes or after swimming or sweating.
